Let ASG Assist you with our Requirements Support Services
ASG’s Crucial Success Factors (CSF) Analysis methodology for determining requirements is a top-down means of determining requirements based on the needs of the organization. For this reason, it is well-suited for requirements analysis for large systems with many stakeholders as well as effective for analysis of smaller systems with an audience having multiple and sometimes conflicting interests.
Our CSF analysis method begins with us working with you to clarify or further develop a mission statement, then dividing the mission statement into a set of very high-level goals. These high-level goals are then further divided into Critical Success Factors, which themselves are then further broken down into multiple levels of a hierarchy, becoming more concrete. At the lowest level, each CSF becomes a requirement for the system; a single, well-defined task that is accomplished in order to be successful. Along the way, problems to be solved and assumptions made are recorded.
Once the CSF hierarchy is established and a set of requirements has been obtained they can be arranged into a matrix for comparison where problems have been identified then fully addressed by one or more requirements.
By analyzing the steps necessary to achieve success, and cross-referencing them against problems to be solved, ASG develops a complete set of requirements that can be determined, which are then correlated with specific user scenarios. Each of the requirements are checked to see if they apply to at least one user scenario, and generally more than one.
ASG’s CSF methodology allows requirements to be determined that satisfy the needs of the organization and those of the user. Since architectural frameworks are built and maintained by organizations, this method allows us to create a well-defined and reasonably complete set of requirements for that will benefit your organization.
ASG also employs CMMI Level 3 practices to trace requirements, track progress, and maintain version control over corrections/changes to templates as requirements specifications shift in order to simplify and streamline creation, implementation, and deployment of necessary requirements for all parties involved.
Requirements Success Story:
For Health IT clients ASG develops standardizes, and streamlines methods and processes to be adopted to facilitate the implementation of medical evidence forms for the purpose of supporting disability ratings in accordance with such agencies as Veterans Affairs Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD). This work includes implementing medical evidence template requirements specifications (functional, non-functional, and logical data models) for developers; facilitating change management (CM) processes (tracking the implementation of new medical evidence templates or changes to existing templates throughout the full lifecycle from inception all the way through delivery of specific versions). We maintain immediate critical business operational objectives needs for the implementation of medical evidence templates and reports while the long-term roadmap methods, processes, and artifacts are formalized and improved.
ASG also develops test plans in the requirements phase for implementation during the design and testing segments. For each level of the requirements process, we employ CMMI Level 3 (Cert.) practices to trace requirements, track progress, and maintain version control over corrections/changes to templates as requirements specifications shift in order to simplify and streamline creation, implementation, and deployment of necessary requirements for all parties involved.
